Kullituklo United Methodist Church Idabel, Oklahoma Obituary: James "Mickey" McClure of Haworth, Oklahoma passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at his home at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 17 days. He was born on March 23, 1926 at Shultz, Oklahoma, the son of Absolom McClure and Lela Peters. James attended Jones Academy in Hartshorne, Oklahoma and was proud to be a "Jones Boy". He also attended Haskell Institute in Lawrence, Kansas where he received his welding certification. James moved to Houston, Texas and was employed by Todd Shipyard where he worked for 30 years before retiring and moving back to McCurtain County in 1999. He loved spending time with his family. James was a member of Kullituklo United Methodist Church. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Beth McClure, two brothers, Jim McClure and Silas McClure and one sister, Rosie Westmoreland. He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Michael McClure of Haworth, Oklahoma. Two daughters, Gloria McClure of Haworth, Oklahoma and K. Nadine Littlejohn of Lawrence, Kansas. One sister, Edith Higgins of McAlester, Oklahoma. Six grandchildren, Jamie Thompson, David Vercher, Nikki Harjo, Barry Littlejohn, Pamela Mosley and Stephanie McClure. Also, 12 great grandchildren. Interment will be in Kullituklo Cemetery. |
