Obituary:
Travis C. Sparkman, Sr. of Idabel passed away Friday, September 16, 2011 at his home at the age of 87 years, 2 month and 7 days. He was born on July 9, 1924 in Aurora, Texas, the son of Tom A. Sparkman and Mollie Brown. Travis loved visiting with his friends and family and retired from working as a self-employed electrician.

Travis was preceded in death by his wife Georgia C. Sparkman; three brothers; Felix Lee Sparkman, Henry "Buddy" Sparkman and Leslie Sparkman; four sisters; Sudie Williams, Eva German, Mary Conrod and Eula Merry.

He leaves to cherish his memory five sons and daughter-in-laws; Cliff and Roberta, Joe and Linda, Lee and Teresa, Roger and Lucille all of Idabel, OK and Gary and Janet of Madill, OK. One daughter and son-in-law; Christine and Jim Eastep, Sr. of Idabel, OK. Thirty-five grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and eight great-great granchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Childrens Hospital.

We always loved it when Mr. Sparkman would stop by and see us. He did so without fail once a month or so for the last 7 years. We will miss him dearly.
