John W. Derryberry Jr. - age: 90

Elwayne Schaeffer, James Campbell, Lawrence Valentine, & Roger Butler Obituary: John W. Derryberry Jr. 90, of Idabel, OK, passed away at his home in Idabel July 31, 2009. He was born July 27, 1919 at Idabel to John Derryberry Sr. and Fannie Garner Derryberry. John was a lifetime resident of Idabel. He was a retired farmer-rancher and served of several board in McCurtain County, including the Airport Board for over eleven years. He also served on the McCurtain Memorial Hospital Board and taught Adult Bible Education for 40 years. John was preceded in death by a son, Dr. John Allen Derryberry on July 22, 2009. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Derryberry of the home, two daughters, Betty Derryberry of Carrollton, TX and Jan Anderson and husband, Walt of Highland Village, TX; one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Derryberry of Idabel, OK; 5 grandchildren, Lori Mayes and husband Chris,, of Little Rock, AR; Mary Beth McDougal of Dallas, TX; Dianne Rochefort of Dallas, TX; Mark Derryberry and wife, Karen of Jenks, OK; and Debra Foley of Edmond, OK; 10 great-grandchildren. John loved his family, his country, but most of all the Lord. |
