Obituary:
Jack Alford, of Haworth, Oklahoma passed away November 9, 2011 at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 22 days. He was born January 17, 1921 to Thomas Alford and Bertha Roberts Alford in Heavener, Oklahoma.
Jack lived most all his life in McCurtain County. He was a member of the Bokhoma Community Church, a US Army veteran, serving in France and Germany as a radio operator. He was a retired sawmill worker from Swarts Sawmill and Gary Huffman Sawmill.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Viola in November 2006 and also by two brothers, Tub and Dee Alford, two grandsons, Jeremy Alford and Richard Alford and one great-granddaughter, Morgan Alford.
Jack leaves to cherish his memory four sons and spouses; Edward and Barbara Alford of Marshall Hill, OK; Ricky and Debbie Alford of Redland, OK;
Kenneth and Mary Alford of Moon, OK; and Larry and Sharon Alford of Broken Bow, OK; eight grandchildren, Billy Jack Alford, Twaila Wiley, Kevin Alford, Clay Alford, Sarah Morse, Bethany Patterson, Kayla Alford , Dewayne Gamble and fifteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friendws from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., Friday, November 11, 2011 at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011 at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Bokhoma Cemetery.
