Obituary:
Hubert "Herb" Gilley" age 62 passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011. He was born on November 18, 1949 in Wichita Falls, Kansas, the son of Thelma Sue Henderson Gilley.

He lived in McCurtain County most of his life. He was a 1969 graduate of Tishomingo, Oklahoma High School. In 1969, Herb married his high school sweetheart, Eddye Weatherford.

Herb was a painter and cleat certified deputy for the Corps of Engineers. Herb owned and operated his own business, Satellite Television Co. for 17 years and also owned and operated Millerton CB Shop for 4 years. He was a founding member of the board for the Satellite Dealer Coalition and on the board of governors.

Herb had several hobbies over the years. He loved to travel and RV. Herb never met a stranger and always had a friendly smile.

Herb was an active witness for Christ. He sent many DVD-CD sermons and Holy Bibles to friends and family. He was a member of the Bethel Southern Baptist Church of Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Herb is survived his wife; Eddye Gilley and two daughters; Gayla Sue Massingill and husband, Mark of Gilmer, Texas and Brenda Rinea Raley and husband James of Idabel, OKlahoma. Herb is also survived by two grandsons; Matthew Brian Massingill of Gilmer, Texas and John Hollin Raley, of Idabel, Oklahoma; a sister and brother-in-law; Wendell and Janice Ann Peck of Norman, Oklahoma; two nieces; Dr. Christy Peck and husband Phil Williams of York, PA and Cindy Peck of Norman, OKlahoma; great niece; Lyndsie Cornell of York, PA and two great-nephews; Dustin and Austin Argo of Norman, OKlahoma; and many more family and friends, including a special friend Vern Walton of Overton, Texas.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home in Idabel, Oklahoma, with Pastor Melvin Anderson of Idabel, Oklahoma, Melvin Osbourne, of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma and Biddey Stout of Garvin, Oklahoma officiating. Visitation will be immediately following the Memorial Service at Norwood-Nation Chapel, Idabel, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Relay for Life.
