Obituary:
Ruth McCombs Ferguson , age 88, of the
Pollard Community was born October 6, 1923 in Ashdown, Arkansas, the daughter of George Lewis and Addie Howell Lewis. She passed away January 23, 2012 in Idabel, Oklahoma the age of 88 years, 3 months and 17 days.
Ruth spent her early years in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma, moving to Idabel around 1940. She worked as a bookkeeper, telephone operator, and for Bill Thweatt Concrete in Broken Bow for 20 years, She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Idabel where she served as church secretary at one time.
Ruth enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, cards, going to casinos and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preced by her parents. first husband, Gerald McCombs, daughter, Brenda Ruth McCombs, brother, George Lewis, sisters, Jemmie Sue Whiteman, Cordie Reed and Mary Ellen Hogya.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, H.L. "Cotton"
Ferguson, of Pollard, Oklahoma.
One son and wife, Jerry and Joyce McComb of Idabel, OK; seven stepsons, Jack
Ferguson, Eugene "Bubba" Ferguson,Randy Ferguson and Jimmy Ferguson all of Pollard, OK;and
Jerry Lynn Ferguson of Redland; one daughter and husband, Kathy and Goat Ray of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; one step-daughter,
Lisa Weaver of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren,
John McCray and wife
Kassandra of Porter, TX; Jaime Murphy and husband,
Patrick of The Colony, TX ;Johnny Clyde Ray and wife, Donna of Broken Bow,
OK; Amy Stevenson and husband of Trey of Dodge, Texas; 8 great-grandchildren, Bryan McCray, Clayton McCray, Mikhaila McCray, Cade Murphy,
John William Ray, Brayden Stevenson, Brazos Stevenson and Randall Maggerise and 7 step-grandchildren, Jackie Lynn Marsh, Carolyn Williston, Malinda Coffman, Josh Ferguson, B.J. Ferguson, Peyton Ferguson anad Kirby Weaver.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Norwood-Nation Chapel with Rev. Miles Wesner officiating. Interment will follow in the Denison Cemetery, Idabel, Oklahoma.

Dear Jerry, Joyce, Kathy, Goat and Family, We are so sorry to learn of the passing of your beautiful Mother. She was a sweet and smart person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
