Visitation Information:
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday March 30, 2012 at Trinity Baptist Church in Idabel, OK with Rev. Marlon Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at Redland cemetery.
The family will recieve friends from 6:00 to 8:00 on Thursday March 29, 2012 at the Norwood-Nation Chapel.

Obituary:
Thad Hamilton Gills, a lifelong resident of McCurtain County passed away Monday, March 26, 2012 at Idabel, OK. He was born in Gila Bend, Arizona on March 1 , 1933 to Oscar Franklin and Vergie Odessa Gills.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Three brothers; Robert G. Mayhan , Henry Dale Davis, and Oscar Franklin Robert Gills. Three sisters; Mildred Seymore, Mary Lou Hickman and Juanita Faye Herron and a great grandson Jake Charles Horrocks.
Thad loved spending time with his grandkids, fishing, working in the yard and listening to music.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 47 years, Earlene Gills of Idabel, OK. Two sons; Bobby Howard of Blossom, TX and Anthony "Tony" Howard and wife Kathy of Houston, TX. Six daughters; Emerald Bigelow of Shultz, OK, Emma Spence and husband Claud of Shultz, OK , Dovie Cortez and husband Bobby of Blossom, TX, Dean Bourke and husband Jorge Elizondo of Stafford ,TX, Mirinda Hickman of New Orleans, La and Cynthia Gills of New Orleans, La. One brother; Oscar Dolen Gills and wife Ialma of Oklahoma City , OK. He had numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and a host of friends.

I had not seen my uncle Thad in almost thirty years, my memories of him are mostly from my youth, from spending a few weeks of my summer vacations at his house. He and aunt Earlene gladly took me in and made me feel as though I belonged, I felt loved, I could see the love in his eyes when he looked at me, and when he looked at my father. I enjoyed my times at uncle Thad's so much that when it became time to leave I once threw a fit and ran down the road only to fall, busting my elbows, to this day I still carry a little gravel from that road in my arms, and I will carry my uncle Thad in my heart forever. God bless uncle Thad, aunt Earlene and all of their family and friends.
