(February 08, 1931 to May 30, 2009 ) Resident of Garvin, Oklahoma Obituary: Jean Rogers, 78, Garvin Okla., passed away Saturday May 30, 2009 at her home. She was born Feb. 8, 1931 in Hazel Park, Wayne Co., Michigan. She was the daughter of Charles Russell Sherman and Clara Victoria Travis. Jean Asherman and Vester Rogers married Dec. 11, 1947 at DeQueen Ark. Jean was a homemaker and a member and secretary of Millerton Sewing Club. She was a member of The Assembly of God Church in Valliant. She Loved family gathering, sewing, fishing and traveling to visit her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters and three brothers, a Grandson, Vance Melton, and a Great Grandson Auston Melton She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Velma Melton and Husband Kenneth, Millerton; Two sons, Virgil Rogers and wife Davy Joe, Cunningham, TX , and Ernie Rogers and wife Joy, Detroit TX; One brother Chuck Sherman and wife Mazzell, Manson Washington, 7 Grand Children and 11 Great Grand Children. |
