Obituary:
Essie Lee Dockins passed away on September 13, 2010. She was born June 8, 1925 to Maggie and Amos Atkins in DeKalb, Texas.
She was united in matrimony to Vernice Dockins February 3, 1945. To this union 13 children were born. Her sons, Robert Lawerance and Willie C. preceded her in death. Her mother and father also preceded her in death.
Essie found Christ at an early age. She would give her last to help others. She spent most of her married life taking care of her children in the home. She did not mind cooking dinner and feeding the whole community. She loved to fish and would spend everyday fishing if she had the chance.
She leaves to mourn her passing and cherish all her memories; Sons, Freeman Dockins, Vernice Dockins and Earnest Dockins, all of Oklahoma City, OK; Kenneth Dockins and Rose of Edmond, OK; Amos Dockins of Springhill, TX; Daughters, Dorothy Scroggins, Carol Mays and LeRoy, Diane King, and Sharyle Jones and Stanley all of Oklahoma City, OK; Tereca Hill and Terry of Edmond, OK; Sister, Annie Lee McCrary of Victorville, CA; Brothers, Johnnie Akins, Vernell Akins and Ann of DeKalb, Texas; Paul Akins Sr. and Sherry of Edmond, OK, Jackie Akins and Janet of Wichita, KS, and numerous nieces, nephews and host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday September 18, 2010 at the Beaver Dam Baptist Church in DeKalb, Tx with Reverend Kevin Haywood officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery.
