(January 30, 1932 to September 17, 2010 ) Resident of DeKalb, Texas Visitation Information: Services; 1:00 p.m., Saturday Sept. 25, 2010 Oak Ridge Baptist Church DeKalb, Texas Obituary: Essie King, Age 78, of DeKalb, Texas passed away September 17, 2010 at Minden, LA. She was born January 30, 1932 in DeKalb, the daughter of Eddie Hunter and Minnie Murphy Hunter. Essie was a lifetime resident of Dekalb. She was a homemaker and became a member of the Oak Ridge Baptist church in DeKalb at an early age. She enjoyed cooking and fishing. She was preceded by her parents, first husband, E.M. Easter and her second husband, Ed King, one son, Eddie King Jr., one sister, Ersie Robinson and a brother. Essie leaves to cherish her memory her children, Deloris Greer, of Little Rock, AR; Doris Rollins,of Dallas,Texas; Ruby Easter,of Longview, Texas; Larry Darnell Hunter and Teresa, of Oklahoma City, OK; Kathleen King , of Chicago, Illinois and Mary Ann King, of Oklahoma City, OK; 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren and one sister, Lula Dixon, of Chicago, Illinois Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday September 25, at the Oak Ridge Baptist Church in DeKalb, Texas, with the Reverend Clifton Murray, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Norwood-Nation Funeral Home, Idabel, OK. |
