Obituary:
Dessie Owens was born at Haworth, Okla. on April 13, 1927 to Johnny Wright and Lillian Cox Wright. She was a homemaker and had lived in the Haworth area all of her life. Her hobbies included all kinds of crafts,sewing, gardening and painting. She passed from this life at Texarkana, Texas on Jan. 9, 2011 at the age of 83 years, 8 month , and 26 days.
Dessie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Henry Owens; 2 sons; J.W. Parks and Posey Walker. 8 sisters also preceeded her.
She leaves to cherish her memory; 1 daughter, Peggie Thompson and her husband, Terry of Ashdown, Ark. One brother, Tony Wright of Haworth, Ok. 5 Grandchildren; Lorinda Ka Parks, Billy Walker, Annette Walker, James Parks and Kaysie Atkins. Several great grandchildren also survive.
