Obituary:
Weedia Mae Pond 84, of Tom, Oklahoma died Monday August 8, 2011 at Moon, Oklahoma. She was born July 13, 1927 at Tom, Oklahoma, the daughter of Fred Counts and Arizona Toole Counts.
Weedia Mae was a lifetime resident of McCurtain County. She worked 30 years as a cook for the Haworth Headstart. Her hobbies were canning and gardening. Weedia Mae was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Glen Pond, two daughters,
Inez Lisenby and Bonnie Miller; two sisters; Mamie Gibson and Onia Mae Titsworth; one brother; Cecil Austin and one son-in-law; C.E. Young.
Weedie Mae leaves to cherish her memory , one daughter, Dianne Fairless and her husband Coy of Smithville, Oklahoma; three sons; Butch Green and his wife Vada, of Moon, Oklahoma; Perry Pond of Tom, Oklahoma and Irvin L. Pond and his wife, Gala of Tom, Oklahoma;
one brother; N.G. Austin and his wife Shirley of Durant, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, at Norwood-Nation Funeral Home.
Services will be Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at the Tom Baptist Church with Reverend Audie Dawson officiating. interment will follow in Tom Cemetery.
